Canadian alternative rock band Texas King have released an acoustic collection of tracks dubbed The Elias Sessions. The collection includes previously released “You”, as well as never-before-heard acoustic versions of “Not Myself” and “Frontlines”. Fans can stream The Elias Sessions here:

“I’ve been wanting to bring the acoustic versions back for a while now! When we started, I played an acoustic and that’s how I wrote most of the early tunes that Texas King played. I wanted to get back to that,” shares vocalist Jordan Macdonald.

I think it’s a side of the band that no one has heard and I hope we can do a living room tour where we just play in people’s houses some day!! It’s a nice little pallet cleanser for those in need! LET US PLAY IN YOUR LIVING ROOM ACOUSTIC!!”

The original recordings of the tracks are all off the band’s latest EPChanges, a collection comprised of 6 arena-worthy rock anthems inspired by themes of growth and the rediscovery of oneself. Texas King bassist, Phil Spina, shares, “Making this EP was really artistically fulfilling. We feel that these are some of the best songs we’ve ever written and we’re excited to finally share them with the world. That feeling is going to be extra sweet now that we can play the new tunes in front of a live audience.” Changes is available to stream now, here:texasking.fanlink.to/changes-ep.

Circa 2013; Jordan Macdonald (vocals, guitar), Phil Spina (bass),Colin Gray (guitar) and Melvin Murray (drums) came together in London, Ontario to start putting together the hooks and high-kicks of what would eventually become their 2017 debut album Circles. Independently released, the lead single “Boomerang” quickly became a fan favorite at shows and debuted on the Canadian rock charts at #14. The band toured relentlessly in 2018/19, crisscrossing the country opening for bands like The Sheepdogsor with friends in Royal Tusk, dropping into New York/Los Angeles/Chicago supporting Last Dinosaurs on sold out shows, and eventually finding their way through America and back across Canada with Big Wreckon a 4-month tour at the end of 2019 – all culminating with a sold-out hometown headline show to celebrate.

Over that time on the road and into last year the band shared a series of singles – “Greatest Mistake,” “Giants” and “Chandelier” – which followed “Boomerang” onto the rock radio charts, peaking at #39 and currently tracking a half a million streams on Spotify.

Now, Texas King have released their new six song EP, Changes.
